11th-Aug-2006 08:02 pm - The Ugly Truth
I was just watching the "Human Trafficking" miniseries on TV this week and it really got me thinking on a subject that, I must sadly say, I have not given much thought to before.

Just looking up some stats it really does make me sick what some people, especially young men and women have to go throught. 800,000 human beings are trafficked every year. My heart especially goes out to those young men and women who are sexually exploited. That isn't too say that other forms of exploitation of humans like unpaid labour is alright or not as important, it's just that sexually exploitation for some reason really got to me.

The horror that the poeple have to go through, it is utterly disgusting.

This statement I found about child prostitution is especially disgusting:  "Children also engage in prostitution, however, when they exchange sex outside these environments and in return not only for basic needs such as accommodation, food, clothing, or safety, but also for extra pocket money for desired consumer goods otherwise out of their reach"..... It just makes me so angry and sad that there are children in the world (especially young children) who need to do this just to survive.

One thing that I cannnot understand is the mentality of the clients, who engage in sexual activity with children. Like what the hell is going on through their minds, and how the hell can they  get "pleasure" from having sex with innocent vulnerable children...its sooo sick and no matter how many times they may apoligise or no matter what excuse they give, their actions are inexcusable.

Nothing is going to change with me just writing this, but maybe it'll get some of you to think aswell. The movie said (yes i know im getting quotes from a movie but yeah..) that this only occurs because our culture creates a demand for it. Human Trafficking occurs only because we choose to ignore it....

MMM....something to think about.

Finally, the holidays are here :) YAY!!!!

I have been waiting for this day for so long... hahaha. Kinda of scary that they are here cause it means that we only have one more term of year 11 left and then its year 12!! ahh.

So much happened this week, well not that much but more than usual.

I got a Digital Camera on monday (from rnts for bday) :D. Very pleased as I can actually take my own photos now and I don't have to steal any from other people anymore. The only problem about it is that it doesn't have zoom (when ure taking the photo) ahh well, at least its better than the one my family had previously, that one was MASSIVE it was embarrassing to take it newhere.

Also had english exam on monday..meh..it went OK

And of course WIMBLEDON began!! So happy that it started on my birthday lol...I just love Federer's suit, he looks so adorable in it :):)  (it has three racquets on the side and Federer written in gold!!)

Strike hpnd on wednesday. I went to see 'Take the Lead'. Good movie, I love the music and the dancing..."It's like sex on hardwood"

And tonite, its Germany vs Argentina in the quarters of the world cup ahhhh!! so nervous. Also very  pissed as today in Phys we were all happily watching soccer until Mr Wearne came in as wasn't all happy and we had to turn it off. WTH, it last day of term and as if we do ne work in physics neway.

Semi Formal planning is underway...Heard today that so far 70 people from our school are coming and 80 are invited (from other schools). I personally think thats quite sad, only 70 from our grade of like 170!?!?!?!?!?!...ahhh well

I hope u all enjoy ur hols

What a good game for Germany against Ecuador. Germany's way 3-0.

I must admit that I was a bit bored as the match was very one sided. Germany, even though they had less possession, controlled most of the match and Ecuador didn't put up much of a fight. Also happy that England finished first in their group, as it means that Germany will not face England in the second round. Ohh I really hope that Germ. can win over Sweden *fingers crossed*.

Ballack didn't receive another yellow card, which was a big relief and he was also name Man of the Match, by Fifa.
Well deserved too, such a hottie!!!...

Looking very nice during a match

So cool, so casual

Germany's aswesome Captain during training

I could just stare at these all day...lol

18th-Jun-2006 10:45 pm - KING OF GRASS

YAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!! He did it! Federer Won Halle for the 4th time AND he equaled Bjorn Borg's record of 41 consecutive wins on grass.

After losing final, after final to Nadal on clay, the KING OF GRASS has returned. HEHE, finally, ill see him lift another trophy. It's been pretty long since I have :). I love him, my umm...how did Ash describe him? oh yeah.. MY HAIRY SWISS. LOL - I don't even want to think about that....

I'm just so happy right now!!! -- and Brazil is playing soon too :) :) Smiles all round.

Luv ya all

Mmm it has been so long since I last updated.

Been so busy with school work I must sadly say.

Doing Ag, getting reports, UAI estimate. BTW Ruse is crzy, I don' think any other school gives them out so early but it also does have its advantages. It does show us where we are in the state and how and where we can improve.

Now, who would I be if I didn't write about one of the biggest events (in the world) happening right now

THE 2006 WORLD CUP!!!!!!!!!!! It really does bring the world together and like Azy said, it gives us the opportunity to check out Hot European Guys. You got that damn straight girl.

I love it! I love it all. The whole crazy spirit, all the teams and especially Brazil, Germany - Michael Ballack is so damn good looking omg, too bad he has 3 kids :( -and Australia.  Though I must say that when Australia will be playing against Brazil, ill have to go for Brazil (sorry to all those fans in AUS).

I love waking up at 4am in the morning to watch games. :D  I probably sound extremely crazy but I honestly have the best time because I feel like such a dedicated fan. It's quite funny how most of the goals are being scored in a very dramatic fashion, ie in the last minute. Australia vs. Japan, Germany vs. Poland, Sweden vs. Paraguay. It adds a lot more stress to the game but also excitement.

And yeah with tennis.... I'm really trying to forget about  Roland Garros shift my focus to Wimbledon (that starts on my B'day!!!). Federer was soo damn close to making the tennis history books and yet so very far :( :( Very very upset -- thank goodness I have my fellow fan Rojda, I don't have to go through the sadness and agony alone :P

I'm also looking forward to this Sat, Claire and Tina's 16th...going to see people like Claire, than I haven't seen in AGEEESSSS...SOO much catch up to do :). Should be good

Well I better go, have an Eco Test tomorrow

Hey everyone

Wow I never know that the Olympic Park was that big. I thought it was gonna be no problem finding people, but yeah haha totally different story when i actually got there. Called heaps of people and no one would pick up (ahh) until finally found Donna, Matt and Julz, and luckily Matt knew the way.

So yeah the party was cool, very casual, lots of ppl and yummy bbq and a lot of water bombs (I still don't get what so great about them)

Afterwards, me and Donna went back to Julz place and since Julz went home early, we had to get there ourselves. HAHA Donna I will not forget out trip. We are such novices at Public Transport :P. We got mixed up with train area thingys and once at Parra, well lets just say it took us a while to find Ezy Way (By the way, you guys have to try it. Its so asian lol, but really  nice) and then we had to wait agggess for the bus, but it fnally came and we got to Julzs place safe and sound. Thanx for letting me stay at ur place for a while Julz :) :)

Had a very "cultural" experience today.

Went to some Bangali Festival thingy with a family friend. It was yeah...okay...not my thing really. I didn't know anyone and was like the only girl who wasn't wearing a traditional bengali attire. I could feel everyone staring at me like "whos that chick, who isn't dressed properly" lol , ah well

I LOVE HOLIDAYS!!

I am so relaxed rite now :), feels so good for once not to be stressed out about school!!

Well I hope everyone has great holidays!

Cya!

OM gosh

What I horrible horrible horrible day...

Came to school in tears, cause of what happened at home, don't really want to go into too much detail

and then.. THE AG 1/2 yearly!!
What was the frkn ag department thinking, that was way too long and soo specific. Like every single question had "for a named plant production, for a named animal production" like ahh! too difficult

So that screwed up my mood totally and just now in tutoring I kept on making soo many mistakes!!
Ahhhh

Wow that felt good, all that anger

Haha you know im pretty good at making people believe the most random things about me

Like with my arranged marriage and someone...at tara i think??
Shirls for a long time actually believed that I was FRIENDS with roger federer
I think i made Libby believe i had a half brother, lol
and now i just told Kim i had a uni bf and yeah she was like "wow, om gosh that soo cool" HAHAHA

So sad...but I find it funny :)

LOLs, I hope everyone is having a good week -- better than me anyway

Luv ya all
Julze -- very mad
